Today the Microsoft Dynamics NAV development team introduced new tools to build extensions and apps. In the post, they encouraged people to use the tag #dyndev365. MSDynamicsWorld wrote that a primary use will be to develop new NAV and Dynamics 365 for Financials extensions. The preview is named the “Microsoft Dynamics NAV ‘Tenerife’ Developer Preview“. The pre-release name for Dynamics 365 for Financials was Madeira, while Tenerife is the largest of the nearby Canary Islands.

It seems obvious that these are the tools developers will use to customize and extend Dynamics 365 for Financials that Marco Perisic wrote about on October 18. I wonder why they chose to announce them as the tools for Dynamics NAV, which was depicted as a continuing separate product at WPC 2016. I’m looking forward to learning more about them!
